The better comparison would be Doflamingo and Law. Or Kaido and Momo/Kinemon. They're the figurehead big bads of the arc with direct philosophical opposition to what Nika represents.

I would agree if Imu was present. Only then would I expect other character to help out with sub villains as Luffy took on Imu. But Saturn has been written and presented as the big bad of Egghead. I mean his entrance with the Soan form is legit a top 5 OP villain entrance.

Kuma's personal story is not about him overcoming Saturn or succeeding in his revenge. Rather, it's about maintaining "faith" and "hope" in Nika's eventual return. At least that's what Oda's been clearly presenting to us thus far.

Kumas personal story has been about Kuma becoming a warrior like Nika. He said it to Saturn himself and even uses the hand of liberation as his sole weapon.

Saturns entrance feels like it was designed to hype up the gorosei, the “no one look at them!” The pentagram, all of it was awesome, however, Saturn in the end just feels like another Gorosei.

He really doesn’t feel personal or impactful to luffys journey so despite Saturn being a bigger individual in the world, Kizaru still is the bigger enemy of the straw hats imo. Hell Luffy himself even mentioned two years ago. So the idea that oda would end Luffy vs Kizaru so… unsatisfying, seems wrong.

Dude, if by "build up" you mean "build up for the final fight that'll eventually take down Saturn" then you're right. Kuma has had none. But I'm referring to general build up. That's like saying Vivi wasn't going to fight Crocodile because Luffy's the one who's going to take him down in the end lol

Yes, but I think people misunderstanding, I don’t think Kumas fighting Saturn. Kumas not a fighter, he’s a pacifista.

I think the scenes going to be about Kuma forcing Saturn to take in the pain the WG has caused. Not some Law vs Doffy fight, but more of a shura vs Wyper sacrifice play.
