You don’t think the man who caused the straw hats to separate for two years is more impactful to luffys journey than someone who hasn’t done anything to luffys friends and someone luffy doesn’t even know?

Dude, if by "build up" you mean "build up for the final fight that'll eventually take down Saturn" then you're right. Kuma has had none. But I'm referring to general build up. That's like saying Vivi wasn't going to fight Crocodile because Luffy's the one who's going to take him down in the end lol

If you're referring to a immediate fight/rescue of Bonney who's currently being squished by Saturn, then that won't happen either, unless he tries to attack Saturn and then gets 1 shotted/swatted easily and fails. This panel basically guarantees that it has to be Luffy that will be attacking Saturn first to "liberate" Bonney.

If you're referring to a immediate fight/rescue of Bonney who's currently being squished by Saturn, then that won't happen either, unless he tries to attack Saturn and then gets 1 shotted/swatted easily and fails. This panel basically guarantees that it has to be Luffy that will be attacking Saturn first to "liberate" Bonney.

Oda starting the flashback with Bonney saying "Nika will liberate me too" and ending the flashback with Nika liberating her is how he will deal with this.
