Oda changed his original story of Bonney.

I'd love to see how much stuff Oda has changed past Wano of his original plan for the final saga. From the looks of it, Kuma, Bonney, and Vegapunk were all chiseled to fit better into what he's left to tell. Corners were cut, characters were changed. Only history will tell if this was for the better.
