The problem here is you're looking at it entierly from a powerscaling perspective. The concept of Joyboy and Nika is a billion times more narrativley impactful and miles ahead in terms of writing than Asura and Indra. If you don't like it that's fine, but it is definitely not an ass pull since it's clear oda has had g5 in his bag for at least 10-12 years.

And like I said Kaido did not tanked bajrang gun he got beat by it .
The only punch you can compare to white star gun is the no name one luffy used that made kaido go down hold his head and ask him who he was but it was clearly a much weaker version .
