Whether or not Mihawk scarred Shanks doesn't matter to the current plot since Mihawk is no longer Shanks' fated enemy.

The only scar that aches Shanks is the one given by Blackbeard, and it means their fates are tied to each other.

Kaido's scar ached from Oden and tied them together. Same thing goes for BB-Shanks, Luffy-Akainu and Zoro-Mihawk. Its Oda's way of telling the reader that two characters are bound to fight at some point.

Pre Yami BB was strong but based on his feats with Yami he couldn’t of been that strong

I don't think neither Blackbeard tricked Shanks nor Mihawk didn't scar Shanks, Blackbeard just managed to give Shanks his most clean scar. I do think that Blackbeard worked hard to give him the scar though (be it by cunning or by sheer effort).

I don't push Mihawk being Vista level, that's what the manga and databooks push, we literally see them fighting equally in the manga with Mihawk then postponing and Vista is stated to be Mihawk's equal in a databook but of course that goes against your headcanon so you pretend it doesn't exist.
