Manga told us early on that Mihawk traveled the world in his small boat. Mihawk is the one who traveled the world seeking strong swordsmans to prove he was the strongest. He even went after Marines to prove his strength.

Yonko on the other hand barely ever leave their territory. Kaido and Big Mom haven't seen each other since their rock pirate days. Kaido only left his territory the fight a weak WB try to stop and for saving Ace. He only ran into Shanks who stopping Kaido from reaching WB.
