Mihawk missing from Kaido's top 5 doesn't make Mihawk look bad. Instead, it makes Kaido look weak, scared and fake.
Imagine, the WSC who determines characters worth in battle and who's looking for a strong swordsman to fight refusing to seek the WSS.
Mihawk had no reason to seek Kaido since he's not a swordsman. Yet, Kaido had every reason to seek Mihawk because he's a swordsman. As we all know, the days believing the Yonko traveled the world fighting each other, Marines and more are over. That was a lie pushed by fans to hype up their strength.

Shanks likes to avoid fights. There may have been no fight if Kid had not attacked Shanks' crew.
It is the same what Shanks did in MF.
Exactly the same situation against Greenbull.

It is out of character for Kaido, but not for Shanks.
From what we know, the fight never took place, so it is safe to assume Oda stayed true to Shanks' chatacter more than Kaido's.

Zoro using every single ounce of strength he has to pull off his ultimate finisher<Shanks Divine Departure...
30 broken bones you power scaling losers sound like a broken record now, guess what happened after Zoro overexerted himself? He was out and wrapped in so much cloth that he was unable to continue fighting after 10 minutes of action on that level of rooftop against “mere” Yonkos… he was so badly beaten that he had to have a Luffy hormone steroid moment of adrenaline to be able to fight on which put him in the brink of death. We can all play stupid here and act like Zoro wasn’t dead if it wasn’t for Law saving him not just once but twice in exchange.. while also playing dumb and acting like we don’t already now that Zoro is a physical anomaly dude has suffered the absolute most damage out of anyone on the crew for the sake of Luffy. Dude took on Moriah, Oars and Zombies then took on Kuma then went onto take on Luffys pain and fatigue seconds after that fight then went onto having to face Kizaru and Pacifista in that same condition and still showed out.
Zoro is a fucking main character and is destined to be as great as Luffy ofc he gets these types of feats.
the Shanks downplay is completely overplayed now by the lihawk and Zoro fanboy wankers that you guys need to now start discussions of Zoro>shanks cause lihawk has looked so poorly in comparison to mere warlords.
News flash Shanks is Luffys challenge the future PK where as Mihawks is Zoroa by your own admissions Luffy>Zoro so the same applies to their counterparts and goals being Shanks>Mihawk…

1) Kaido was scared of Oden. Kaido's intro was just to hype him. Man never wanted to die. If he wanted to fight strong opponents he should have faced other Yonkos. At the end, it was implied that he was also waiting for Joy Boy (when he said you could not be Joy Boy either).
He wanted to start a war, but never went out? Staying in Wano, for what? Why wait for Joy Boy? Kaido's character was already all over the place.
2) Oda can be a liar, hype bitch, and empty hype creator.
But does it contradict his style so far? He has been like this since forever!
3) But Shanks WiFi haki already destroyed the powerscaling. Blame Oda (or GB for acting like a bi**h). Shanks did the same against Kid. We have never seen CoO being used like that.
No benefit? He made a movie about Shanks and earned a lot of money from that. And it seems readers loved G5 transformation and Luffy's win against Kaido (through a bigger punch).
Let's not go down this rabbit hole.

Shanks is not Luffy's goal. Shanks is just another Yonko Luffy wishes to pass on way towards his goal. Just like Big Mom, Luffy doesn't have to fight and beat Shanks. PK is not a strength race.
