Chu's true power.

#21
The state of Chu is an enormous obstacle in Qin's objective to conquer China. But just how powerful of a nation Chu truly is and how hyped should we be for it? Let's go in detail.
Let's dive straight into the facts
You mentioned Rinbukun does crack, which is true

But we can't really completely ignore what he said, Rokuomi also reinforced his argument

I'd say, on average Chu's generals are stronger, specifically when it comes to martial prowess as it is easier to find better physical specimens among the southern monkeys seeing how their population is just massive. Not so much strategically, especially when you have guys like Koshou, SHK and Riboku teaching generations of Qin and Zhao about warfare.

And when it comes to quality, then Chu will never compete. In that regard Qin easily has the best policy

There's a reason Chu never bred extremely competent generals like the Zhao Heavens or Qin 6, aside from the Tiger of Chu that is.
They've been bottled up in their holes for far too long and never had a major role in the warring states compared with states like Qin, Zhao and Wei, so far at least. That said their numbers more than compensate for this lack of quality.

Lol. They will be the greatest obstacle for Qin, even greater than Zhao. I won't be surprised if Qin + Zhao don't have the martial might to beat Chu
🤣
Qin, feared by all. Hakuki the Demon of China, Koshou the puppet master, Ouki the Monstrous Bird.

"In the last 20 or 30 years Qin never fought against Chu."

"The other states are wary of attacking the superpower that is Chu."

I'm really curious at the number of active Great Generals they have
I suspect they only had two at a time for a long time. Kan Mei and Kou En, and now Ka Rin and Kou En. That makes sense to me, I don't think Kan Mei would agree to sharing power with anyone but Kou En (who seemingly semi-retired anyway), and Ka Rin wouldn't be trusted with that much power by either Kan Mei or Shun Shin Kun, most likely, whereas Kou En is probably so fucking badass it doesn't make a difference to him.

That's plausible

It may be that they are like Zhao and Start of Series Qin where they have plenty of Great General Caliber men at lower positions that don't reflect their true value

I think the existence of Juuko proves that

The true power of Chu, though, realistically, isn't the strength of its officers, but the peerless potential of their logistical capabilities. That is the strength Kou En was referring to, I believe.

Qin's current strength is largely reflective of forward thinking policies that went into action many years ago (in ch 438). These policies were designed to support the state of total war Qin would be embroiled in for the coming 15 years in an effort to unify China.

The results so far have been inarguable. With the exception of Gian, Qin have been on an incredible streak of huge gains in territory and martial prestige.

Now imagine if Chu did the same and dedicated its entire state's focus to its military machine. They have the resources build out and support an enormous infrastructure dedicate to war. They just haven't.

That's plausible

The Juuko generals are kind of a special case, and Ren Pa is no doubt also still considered an outsider, but I have no doubt Chu will have several homegrown generals that merit the title on ability.

I think it's kinda cool that Chu generals don't seem to have their own "named" group (like Qin Six Generals, Zhao Great Heavens, Wei Fire Dragons). Just for a change, lol.

Or maybe...later Hara will be like: those are the Five Chu Hells. Lol.
I would like if a group like that existed in the past, but Kouen is the sole survivor of it.

6gg existed because they needed to wage war freely to unify china
3gh countered them
Chu hasn't been active much
Maybe they didn't need such systems
Yeah at least when it comes to the 6GG vs Chu, at the time of the Coalition they only had fought once in 20/30 years (Oukotsu vs Kanmei).

And, more in general, the other states are wary of starting a full blown war against Chu.
