I’m sure the form and abilities of gear 5 were long planned, but the lore aspect of it definitely didn’t feel planned at all. And the more oda tries to shoehorn it in with other characters like Kuma, the more it really feels like it was something oda didn’t plan till much much later.

Apart from the fact that looney toon have not been relevant in ages, it is original because no manga i am aware of ever had a power up like this, and fun because it makes me smile.
And according to your logic, nothing can be original.
Zoro is just a samurai like 1000, sanji is a cook perv like every manga, usopp is the typical coward and Pinocchio.

This i guess we'll never know. Awakening was showed in impel down, but the whole nika etc.. i still believe the skypeia shadow a bit of a reach.
Not saying that skypeia lunarian stuff is not relevant, but the nika part... meh

Yeah original definitely isn’t the word but fun and fitting is. It’s like back in pre timeskip when Luffy was using crazy shit like the gum gum pinwheel, sticking Arlongs teeth in his mouth, water luffy, and idiot luffy modes.

It takes all of luffys stupid ideas and makes them actually viable

Pre time skip luffy was atleast funny , G5 straight up felt cringe.

I wish Sanji’s whole Genetic/Germa shit didn’t happen. Not only was it contradictory story telling-wise, but Oda making Sanji do a 180 out of nowhere made it even worse.

I wish Kaidou would have faced Luffy, Zoro and Sanji for the whole or atleast most part of the fight and Luffy would do the finisher - instead of Luffy beating him one on one out of nowhere.

What I wanted and Didn't happen:
1. Wanted Pedro to join the crew
2. Wanted Toki to be alive to throw some light on Void century
3. Wanted to see Kiku mourning or atleast paying respect to Izo's death instead of jokingly worrying about which bath to use Male/Female?
4 . Wanted Kaido's flashback instead of getting Otama running panels
5. Wanted a deserving bounty for Franky
6. Wanted Brook to get solo Tobiroppo fight
7. Wanted Usopp and Chopper to get solo fights in Wano
8. Wanted Zoro to replace Sandai Kitetsu with Nidai Kitetsu
9. Wanted Sanji to be useful on WCI, was expecting a Kurapika like role from him
10. Wanted Oden alive and being WB's Firstmate with 9 red scabbards as additional Division Commanders to WB crew
11. Wanted Ace to not die
12. Wanted Mihawk or his reference in Wano
13. Wanted Zoro to lead Samurai in Wano

10. Wanted Luffy using a new gear with Awakening to defeat Kaido
11. Wanted Zoro and Sanji beating King and Queen respectively
12. Carrot did not join the crew
13. Yamato did not join the crew
14. Rebecca did not join the crew
15. Shirahoshi did not join the crew
16. Monet did not join the crew
17. Perona did not join the crew
18. Hancock did not join the crew
19. Camie did not join the crew
20. Conis did not join the crew
