The more you earn,the more taxes you have to pay. The piss poor pay no taxes in my country. You need to make at 2K reais(~400usd) to pay taxes.So at least in Brazil,its the middle class that pays taxes. The rich have their ways of avoiding taxes.

Basic need products can be taxed(and are around here) and the gov causes inflation by printing more money and decreasing the value of money.minimum wage means the bar to (legally) create a business is higher and thus less entrepreneurs will hire people.It backfires,it causes unemployment.
