Because he got help against Kaido and even the WG knows it, which is why Luffy, Kid, and Law’s combined bounties are equal to Kaido+BM’s.

The only inaccuracy was that they thought it was mostly Kid and Law helping Luffy, whereas irl the scabbards, Zoro, and Yamato played a more significant role against Kaido.

If Zoro becomes next Strongest Swordsman in the World after beating current Strongest Swordsman in the world.
Why doesn't that honor apply to Luffy after Beating Kaido?
Is it because his title isn't seen as indisputable in the world of One Piece?

Why aren't Akainu or BB the WSM?

1st - Whitebeard received damage from several opponents, the same applies to kaidou.
2nd - Both died.
3rd - Blackbeard, Akainu None of the people who contributed to Whitebeard's death are WSM.

The narrative of One Piece doesn't emphasize the adversities that occurred and led to someone's defeat. The story only cares that X defeated Y without giving importance to how it was done. For instance, Kaido could have lost both arms and legs from facing 1000 people previously and ultimately be defeated by Luffy in that sorry state. People wouldn't care about his condition, only that he was defeated, as they know that among pirates, there's no concept of honor, whether Kaido was weakened or not doesn't matter; what matters is that he ultimately lost. That's how One Piece operates. However, this doesn't mean that readers, knowing the full truth behind the events, can't form a different opinion.

Titles are too much of a problem for the story, and also half of them are hard hearsay.

I don't think the WSM/WSC will be brought up again, not for BB, Akainu or anyone. Maybe just final Luffy.
But even Luffy PK after having after beaten Kaido, BB and Akainu could not be WSM, since we know there is Imu. It would be an empty title.

So I can see it being a thing again, maybe, in eos.
