It's still plenty fun. You can talk about virtually anything. I don't think it has anything to do with mod biases, because that's never really stopped people from shitting on Ace/Shanks in previous threads. Bogard was even there and didn't touch a single Gay Ace comment.

It's more to do with the toxicity I guess. Trying to reign it in and be more on-topic in the early parts of the spoiler threads. I've always considering the 100+ pages point to be more lax and 200+ to be essentially moderation free, apart from harassment or questionable postings. So I guess the current goal is just to streamline the early portion of the thread so people can discuss it without being spammed with more inflammatory comments.
