I feel like One Piece is at its worst when Oda is dragging for event X to happen on date Y. That flashback with Oden was getting meh....just so he could land Oden's death on Oden day.

Now he's definitely dragging something to chapter 1,000.

At this point I'm actually more interested in the cover story, and where it's gonna lead, then the real story.
