Kizaru says that he wants to put the Straw Hats’ growth to the test, and what better way to show how far the Straw Hats have come than to have Sanji get some kind of W in a clash against him.

It makes sense considering that Sanji is the only one near Kizaru strong enough to even contend against him. I think they’ll end up clashing until Luffy appears.

I want every Straw Hat, including Sanji, to have a good moment against the Yellow Monkey. They should all team up and fight him at the same time, get some payback. Egghead has many parallels with Sabaody arc, including the villains, and we need them to show much they have grown.

Luffy disappeared, he isn’t there. That’s why I said Sanji is the only one left capable near Kizaru. Obviously Luffy is stronger than Sanji lol
You saying "contending" and "clashing" in the same post gives off the impression that Sanji would have a legitimate fight with Kizaru.

You mean more of a stalling deal like with Marco stalling King+Queen?

I think Sanji will get his big moment against Kizaru. How well he does will be revealed, but it's his job to stall to protect his allies.

Franky getting the light-gloves and Zoro finishing Lucci could definitely lead to a Straw Hats teaming up against Kizaru, but for now Sanj's the only one who can touch him and is available, so it's all on him. Luffy will return soon enough, but that'll likely be against Saturn.

I hope we get Sanji using Ifrit Jambe and his top speed, I know Oda could easily off-panel it and have him struggling when we return, but I have faith in Sanji, especially given that this acts as an opportunity for him to try and live up to his claims at Thriller Bark. Obviously that was exaggeration for the sake of stepping up, but with Kuma present and it being a matter of protecting against the government and Marines, it could be a decent call-back.

It could also be for the sake of the crew as a whole, to try and rectify their loss to Kizaru at Sabaody, especially with Kizaru wanting to see just how much they've grown, if Sanji is incapable of doing anything, it ain't a good look. Luffy proved himself, now it's time for Sanji to show he's grown since then.

Did Kizaru measure Sanji in the timeskip? I remember Kizaru stepping on Zoro and Usopp and Brook trying to attack him. So that's three people whose grow he could measure.

What does Sanji have to prove to Kizaru?

He didn’t fight Franky before the Timeskip either but he still said that line after kicking him
