In the manga Monsters and on its anime adaptation Ryuma is a master swordsman

We know that in the end of his life he looked like this because of Thriller Bark.

Ryuma is from Wano and was the WSS.

He problably was the first person ever to forge a black blade.

What battles did he fought after the dragon?

Who was strong enough to take his eye?

The plot can only benefit from Venus being the one behind that scar and that way ties up Zoro, Ryuma and him when Zoro faces him.

I assumed he died before Void Century ended.
Even tho we dont have exact confirmation of when Ryuma lived, I assume it is after VC.
Considering that CDs got spoiled later and started their silly games like that on God Valley...

Why do people say that Ryuma was blind in one eye? His bandage doesn't mean anything, Hogback worked on the bodies, and when you lose a eye you don't just keep wearing bandages indefinitely.

But why would they fight?

If it was Nasujuro, what could have been the context? Did Nasujuro win the fight? Did Nasujuro become the WSS? How was the title passed on to Mihawk?

Did anyone think about Oarz as a possibility?

If Nasjuro had won, Ryuma would be dead but Ryuma died from an illness later on.
It means Nasjuro inflicted a wound on Ryuma but was either defeated or forced to retreat.
Knowing Oda, he doesnt want to ruin a hype of either of them, he was forced to retreat probably.

Agree, I think they were kinda rival so when Zoro defeated Venus he can became stronger than Ryuma
