it is because of these stupid circumstances that will force Mihawk's hand in helping Buggy go after OP.
the chapter were Buggy told the crew to go after OP made it pretty clear that CG is now going after it, and since Luffy wont let Garp die at the hands of BB, someone he hates and blames for what happened to Ace, he is going to go after BBP after this, leaving only RHP who went to sea and CG who also are about to go out to sea.

He wasn’t forced to let Buggy be captain. He directly says he doesn’t want a target on his back and tells Crocodile it’s fine if Buggy takes the heat for being the leader of cross guild

no, Mihawk was a warlord under the employment of the World Government and when Shanks arrived at Marineford, Mihawk said “I did not agree to fight Shanks” and then abandoned the battlefield… He was standing in front of Akainu who was murdering Marines for abandoning the battlefield and he did it in front of him and Akainu DIDNT SAY A SINGLE GODDAMN THING… No one on Marineford could make Mihawk Fight Shanks… And Buggy cannot either

what are you talking about man, of cause he was forced into letting Buggy be captain, he says all that because Buggy was already seen as captain and not him, so circumstances forced him.

No, Buggy’s gag influence has nothing to do with fights
fights are serious things. When someone fights, the story has to actually take it seriously… Among all the things that Oda turns into gags, fights never become gags… Like there’s no such thing as a character winning a fight because of a gag… When a character wins, the plot takes it seriously that they won
that’s why Buggy has NEVER WON any of his gags… Oda didn’t even give buggy a fake victory to become a warlord… Like there’s no Marineford panel where like Oda wrote in a gag where for example “Smoker is the guy who was given credit for beating Warlord Crocodile. What if Buggy randomly shot a muggy ball in the air by accident and by accident the muggy ball landed on Smoker’s head and knocked him out. And So Buggy gets the fake credit of beating Smoker who already had the fake credit of beating Crocodile”
this is an example of a gag fight and Buggy’s gag being reinforced by a gag… But that never happened… Nothing like this ever happens… Buggy is not supposed to have any stake in his “accomplishments”… He did absolutely nothing to to earn the warlord position as he did nothing to earn the Yonko position
and just the same, he will do nothing to reach laugh tale… people misunderstand buggy’s gag… It’s not that Bugyy found a cheat code to success through gags… There is no cheat code buggy found to become Emperor… Buggy’s gag is simply that he gets the thing HAVING DONE NOTHING to earn it.
If Mihawk fights for Buggy, it stops being a gag… Mihawk is strong enough that his actual allegiance to Buggy immediately makes it not a gag anymore… now Oda has to be actually serious about what’s happening… Oda has to write Buggy reaching laugh tale NOT through gags, but through actual plot progression with Mihawk actually fighting for poneglyphs… And that defeats the purpose
