I can understand your mindset, it comes from living in a very dangerous country. Now I need you to understand mine because I live in a fairly safe one: civilians don't need guns if there's nothing to defend from. But as I said, that's a level that's not easy to reach from being a very criminal place and ya Brazil needs a millennia.

No one needs a gun until they need it. I don't know where you are from,but crimes happen anywhere. True and that is not the point. The point is that the people that could have been saved if they were carrying a gun were not. Low homicide doesn't mean no homicide. Predators are everywhere. What happens in first world nations is that the law is severe,so they get scared to live their fantasies because they know its jail or eletrical chair.

It is the point, the goal is to lower the murder rate to create a safe living space. You cannot seriously say that having xx murders isn't better than having xxxxxx murders. Gun regulation is one of the tools which would help towards that cause in a country like the US.

On a different note, why does the US think it's a good idea to keep inventing new ways to carry out the death sentence and applying said new UNTESTED methods? Why can't they use methods that are known to kill without unnecessary suffering?
