Listen,the Portuguese weren't all flowers and candy,but they literally brought civilization to people that lived stone age style and,differently from the shy British,they mixed by marriage with the locals. The Portuguese had way more respect of local cultures than other Europpean Settlers. I'm glad this place got colonized by the Portuguese and not the British.
