I think the main reason is the lack of attack power and lethality when it comes to Yuta's attacks.
If you think about it, only Hollow Purple and red dealt some serious damage on Sukuna.

That's why it seems characters are not meeting the expectations. Soul based attacks are boring to look at. Or at least, show the readers some effect like Nanami's CT in action.

Because the only other possible take away is that Jogo has more than 8 fingers of CE, since his CE efficiency, jujutsu skill, CT, domain techniques, output, and experience are all worse than Sukuna’s and the only way to balance it out to 8 would be by having more than 8 fingers of CE.

Seems like you’re pretending that Jogo having 8 fingers isn’t clearly the best interpretation since it fits all of your agendas to just pretend finger scaling never existed in the first place
