I disagree with your statement.
I don't think that the fans talking about it giving more of a shit about the power system then writer I just think they are trying to see hints that writer may have left behind when they don't exists.
Oda is giving enough depth for the power system lately. Before chapter 1010 CoC was basically useless power in top tier fights and people predicted ACoC would be another irrelevant thing as breaking usesless stuff with just your will. Then it became another thing.
I just think those delusional fans doesn't really understand how the power system works in One Piece so they made up those shit things and many based on anime.
For example until today people talks about black haki when Oda clearly says to us that haki is invisible.
Fans are looking for hints because the writer has added stuff that goes unexplained, either for elongated periods of time or simply never explained. Like, what is the star pattern on Sanji's leg? If it doesn't mean anything, then why add it in seemingly random moments? It doesn't add anything to the story.
ACoC is literally CoA, but better. It's redundant and uncreative; it pretty much makes CoA almost entirely irrelevant. Haki is simply a failed power system for numerous reasons, aside from the prior point.
Fans for the most part have as good of a grasp as they possibly could on something so poorly crafted, but it's how so many aspects of it are extremely vague that it leaves gaps that fans try to fill with headcanon to make up for Oda's poor craftsmanship of his power system. For example, if Hardening was just a made-up concept, then why do so many characters still have no coloring on their limbs yet are inferred to be using CoA, such as when Luffy grabs Caesar without black coloring on his arms when he has shown himself capable of black coating prior? If there's no substantial difference between these applications of CoA, then why have these discrepancies? It just causes confusion because of the lack of explanation behind these inconsistencies.
