Questions & Mysteries Ok Seriously, Why Isn't Sukuna Using The Flames ?

Why isn't Sukuna using the fire in this battle?

  • The fire was Yuji's ability (unlikely considering the sorcerers don't know what it is)

It establishes a few things:
1) the sorcerers on the protagonist's side do not know what the fire is/there is no historical info on the ability

2) the fire potentially has enough power to end the battle quickly, to the point that Kusakabe thinks it's pointless to make plans for since they would be dead anyway if Sukuna used it (this is a surprisingly brain dead moment from Wusakabe ngl)

3) Kusakabe's dialogue potentially implies that even current Yuji cannot tank the fire

4) most importantly, Gege has not forgotten about it (you never know with him these days lol)

This naturally raises the question, if Sukuna has something that the sorcerers have little intel on that could potentially overwhelm them quickly, why isn't he using it?

I held the belief that Sukuna was not using the flames so that he could "play with" the sorcerers and see their whole potential.

But I'm starting to think there might be something deeper going on.

Simple:

I read on X that Gege said it is better to not provide explanation so that readers can interpret things in their own way. I think he also mentioned Evangelion, I have not watched it, so cant comment on it (is this anime confusing for people?)

He wants you to keep guessing.

My problen with Sukuna has always been his open ended ability. Gege can take any direction and he has the freedom to do it with FUGA.

Dont think about FUGA or Fire too much, look at it from a bird eye view. Expect Sukuna to do crazy stuff out of the blue.

Its really really confusing lol

I thought maybe sukuna hates using it and like somehow hurts his pride ? because there is a history behind it?
But then why would he use it against JoGoat, so the theory goes to trash
Maybe sukuna wants to play around with other sorcerers , but again. He also didnt use it against Gojo which just makes it more confusing

Fuuga and blackbox was mentioned as something the curses should have known.

So it's not a CT specific to sukuna.

He's probably not using it cause he wants to enjoy the battle or something.

Or maybe cause his CE outputs are getting lower and lower..

IIRC, Sukuna only used Fuuga when he was 15 finger and fresh.

Right now, by his own admission, he's at around 10 finger worth of CE.

guess he can't use it right now. binding vow or something else. like the reason why he can't use world slash.

thought that by fuuga he uses ct of his opponent, but he used fire agains maho as well.

and when yuta grabs the sword, he understands what ct it holds. and straightforward he uses cleave.

if slashes are only a part of his true ct, yuta must've been new his whole ct. looks like slashes are separate ability from fuuga and sukuna willingly imbued them in his domain, like yuta did with angel's ct.
it means, that yuta copied not a true ct of sukuna (fuuga), but only slashes, which are individual.

but it makes sukuna another one sorcerer with many abilities stucked, like yuta and kenny, and i don't like it.

would be good, if yuta copied his whole ct, but didn't fully undestand how to use it. like higu didn't know, that his trial would took away cursed weapon first. maybe yuta only knows that it's sukuna's ct and uses as he saw it (not getting full info on ct just by grabbing the sword). and he saw only cleaves and dismantles, so he uses just them

it's the opposite. he said that jogo wouldn't know, cause he's a curse

@EmperorKinyagi ok so what if gege is hyping up domain and slashes with more output coming back but suddenly we have sukuna be fresh enough to use FUGA?
He also teased us with yuta possibly having Limitless/purple or something but then suddenly he used Sukuna's CT
is he teasing again?

yuta can have limitless, but without six eyes it's meaningless. and eyes can't be copied, cause it's not ct

I have a theory that maybe FUGA/the flames don't use up CE since they're stored somewhere and he's just letting them out.

With dismantle/cleave, the power of the slashes depends on Sukuna's CE output.

But maybe the fire doesn't depend on output, so Sukuna is saving them for when he's low on CE?
With that logic shouldnt those CT be one time use things?
or u mean his Fuga is similar to tsunade/sakura's 100 healing?

like in a feretory theory with cursed tools? it can be, but again, it makes sukuna another one "copying" sorcerer. it's boring.

though it be cool to see how sukuna uses his storage like gilgamesh's gates of babylon from fate series. yuta's domain looks like unlimited blade works anyway, so he would be like shiro.
storage of original weapons vs storage of copied weapons = storage of original cursed techinques vs storage of copied ones

Lol, might be true. Kinda like he is storing paper bombs (Naruto) and can throw them whenever he want.

But, he was controlling the flames as if they were part of his own CT. Stored attacks tend to look like Otsutsuki Momoshiki's attacks, if you have watched first few episodes of Boruto.

Or simply, Fire Release;

Edit: How we all thought of Naruto characters?

Maybe the CE = Chakra reserves similarities.

Cause chakra is simple and easy to make examples of lol
