Koby would legit one shot PH Smoker.

But it's not even totally about power levels, Koby has been Luffy's rival since the literal start of the series and we've only seen more and more of him.

• Escorting princesses to Reverie post WCI
• Talking to X Drake in Wano
• Taking part in the attack on Amazon Lily, Post Wano
• The entire Hachinosu plot line is centered around him playing the role of Ace.

The closest, absolute closest, Smoker has been to coming back is Tashigi making a background cameo and maybe getting a few lines of throwaway dialogue.

Koby was before, started a plot with Garp in the pre TS, and in the post he totally, and I meant totally, outshined Smoker narratively. Smoker had a role in Alabasta-LT, but then not much and in the post TS he was humiliated first and then disappeared after.

Even Tashigi came back and not Smoker.

Koby's entirely physical, don't think his strength won't translate to other areas as well. The only thing Koby's lacked is confidence.

If Cryby was as powerful as you're implying no way he gets so easily overwhelmed by Boa.

Not saying he's not VA strength but to imply he's overall as strong as potentially DR Luffy or Zoro is a wild take when he's beat no one.

You would think that, if a character was important, Oda would take the time to remind the audience about them bare minimum. All the big players in the final saga have been showcased.

• Shanks, repeatedly.
• Blackbeard, repeatedly.
• Gorosei/Imu, repeatedly.
• Akainu, against Kuma.
• Dragon/Revos, they had their own mini arc and have been increasingly interwoven with the story.

Poor, poor Smoker's left in 2015 where he got a Doffy style cameo, otherwise he's in February of 2013 where his last contribution to the story happened.

This just the OP fandom having unrealistic expectations. There were never going to be a new "garp". You think Smoker would been on the future Pirate King level? It’s not even Koby will be able to even clash with Luffy lmaoo.

But saying Smoker became irrelevant to the story is just not true at all. He’s gonna bring a big change
the marines alongside Fujitora & Koby ( also the whole Sword gang)

Smoker is missing since end end of DR (where he was in bed and admitted total inferiority to Fujitora even if he had the same rank).
It's not that I don't like him or did not want him to be important: it's just that as of now he is...nothing.

And Koby and Luffy are definitely meeting and fighting, since there is a promess involved.
