How would he be left behind if he gets his awakening? If he gets on Sanji’s level that means he would become, by far the strongest VA ( excluding Garp ofc). Sanji is a top tier now and so will Smoker if he gets to that level.

Because now Sanji's level is almost nothing. Luffy is an Emperor, we are about to fight Admirals, BB and maybe Elders.
Yc2 are side quest at best.
