Even if the fight between Lucci and Zoro is going long I love it. Zoro and Sanji feel like commanders here, with Zoro getting stalled by a weaker opponent and Sanji stalling a stronger one. Handling high level opponents and shielding the crew while Luffy dunks on the big uglies.

Sure but that is not the point. No one has blocked laser to my knowledge. G5 Luffy ate them with his hax. Marco endured them as he had regen. From that point of view it is an impressive feat hence Kizaru's shock face. Otherwise why Kizaru will be surprised?

Kizaru's surprise to sanji blocking the SAME laser type attack doesn make sense, unless Kizaru's awareness is poor enough to not notice sanji blocking it the first time he attacked the group mid air.

Its either that or this laser is just plain better

There is another lame possibility that its just oda making sanji repeat the feat so that Kizaru notices it, but then again why is it a big deal to block a beam?, and regardless of what oda may have intended it falls back to the 2 possibilities that it either portrays Kizaru's lack of awareness on the battle field or the beam sanji just blocked was a higher caliber.

lasers are consistently scaled as on another level of AP. i dont get why but its happened. remember the infamous door in punk hazard. sanji couldnt break it down with kicks but franky melted it with his laser. everyone who acts like they have impressive defense is scared of lasers. sasaki was the armored division and the defense-focused tobi roppo and he got one shot by a laser. big mom didnt want to get hit by radical beam.
