Again, the fact that Jimbe got involved with Zoro's fight is out of character for him, so doing things out of character isn't out of the question here. Did he attack him knowing he's helpless or did he attack him just because he saw him standing after Zoro's attack because they have to escape as quickly as they can? You have to know the answer for that to know whether Jimbe went out of his way to make sure Lucci can't continue to fight or not.

Regardless of Jimbe's intentions behind the attack, we do know for a fact Lucci was completely incapacitated before Jimbe's attack. I don't know why we're completely ignoring that and only focusing on Jinbe's intentions. If we're gonna care about the character's intentions, why aren't we questioning why Zoro wasn't going for another hit if Lucci is so visibly not defeated?
Zoro defended Lucci and Kaku who were handcuffed, because it wouldn't sit well with him if something happened to them while they were defenseless.

He'd be a hypocrite if he attacked a defenseless Lucci later in the arc, wouldn't he? And I'm not ignoring it. But Lucci not being able to move for a couple seconds before getting attacked by someone else doesn't mean much. It's Zoros win because Lucci can't move long enough for us to know Zoro would be able to land another attack if he needed to. But the fact remains, he didn't KO Lucci, and there is the possibility of Lucci recovering due to being an awakened Zoan. Zoro left the fight unfinished by not putting his opponent down for good, just like Luffy did when he ran instead of following up his attack that had Lucci fading consciousness. KOing Lucci mattered when it was Luffy, but for some reason it doesn't when it's Zoro? Cmon....

The Gorosei seem to be kind of the same as Smoker was. Luffy or Zoro could perhaps have matched or bested him on skill but as he had logia intangibility and no one knew haki there was nothing to do but run until Dragon came in and kept him honest.

Perhaps this is when Dragon reappears? In a bit of a tease he shows up, manages to hurt one of them and then holds all 5 off while telling Luffy that he will meet up later. Aces old role.
Dragon was in Paradise the moment the Gorosei teleported. Unless he's faster than Kuma at traveling, then thats impossible

thank god bro taking a break and rethinking how he ruined one piece with nika
Agree, its crap. But it is easily solveable. Just claim it was an imperfect form of Gear 5. And then bring out Perfect Gear 5. Or if need be Gear 6 (but it feels to early).

In verse explanation could be
The fruits search of freedom gets a little excessive, even taking over the users mind. The perfect Gear 5 is more serious with full freedom of body and movement but the mind is in control of the user, in a sense it is even more free to be able to chose whether to be serious or tap in to sillyness depending on situation. The user is free to control the DF to do as the user wants in all aspects.

Bro, Lucci can't move even before Jimbe's attack, so going by your logic, he'd still be a hypocrite if he attacked Lucci regardless of why he attacked him because Lucci was helpless in the first place. You've been trying to make a non-existent point.

I am willing to bet Jinbe doesn't even know anything about his condition. He likely just barged in and attacked him just to get away with Zoro.
