Controversial Are you a fan of the recap episodes

How do you all feel about the recap episodes? I personally don't like them because I think they happen way to often, I'd prefer if they where between each arc maybe a quick replacement for filler arcs just a quick hey this is what happened so far

But I like a lot to watch the recap movies.

They improved a lot the animation and pacing of many scenes

I don’t mind them, what comes after is usually pretty hype animation wise. I think the only one I watched recently was Zoro vs king recap leading into the finale.

Nobody likes those but Toei has not much of a choice with all the breaks in the manga

Not a fan of those, but maybe there are some forgetting people with bad memory that appreciate them.

I much more like the new outro sequences that give quick information about characters and their story so far.

For One Piece? No. But they are necessary due to pacing for catching up to the manga.

For other anime? Especially if the series is like 2 - 3 years apart per season, a recap episode is necessary (and no, I don't have dementia).

I’m a retarded one piece nerd who has read one piece 3x and watched most of the episodes 2x so these recaps kinda suck since I know everything about one piece and my memory isn’t dogshit.

In that case I really would prefer if they did some cool one off filler episodes like the boss luffy episodes in Ernie’s lobby

but then again i don’t really give a shit since I can just go outside and enjoy the world and when a one piece episode comes out that is not recap it’s just the cherry on top

They are literally completely skippable.

They serve a great purpose however at giving the anime some extra production room, which is great. Its a good use of resources.

Don't even watch the anime unless it's a super hyped epi or something. So as far as i'm concerned, Toei can recap all they want

Not really a break as much as it gives them an extra bit of time to work on the episode. Most animation would *PROBABLY* be done, but it helps in other areas.
