Pre timeskip Oda is awesome. But One Piece has countless below average and terrible chapters post timeskip. The villains were mostly incompetent with zero threat level. There is no comparison. Hara clears.

green flames = soul/underworld power imo.

oda uses the same colors and swirls for zoro's king of hell flames and brook's soul energy. i think the soul power is literally another fully separate power system thats also unexplained. maybe its haki related but maybe its something else. the wano grim reaper will get explained eventually.

There's zero basis for Luffy "not trying" when he has been abusing his strongest mode since the arc started, had to get saved twice by recovery food and and complaint about his inability to hurt the elders.
The only one that is nerfed in this arc is Kizaru.

He did extremely well against Snakeman and almost managed to beat G5 when he was fresh. Later it went downhill but he didn't do bad overall.
