His death is peak as fuck, one of the best in manga. And he goes out like a champ, solidifies his legacy as one of the most lethal generals of all time.

Riboku dying the way he does in history would only just confirm that he was truly the greatest general and that it was impossible for anyone to overcome him. RBK haters better pray Hara changes his ending and makes him lose on the battlefield otherwise it shall be Riboku > Lousen forever lol.

Hango wasn’t this big of a defeat in real history, and Ousen didn’t even participate in this war
The first time Ousen and Riboku fought was post Hango, and it ended in a stalemate as you know, a battle of attrition that eventually Zhao would’ve lost, but Ousen used his resources to achieve a quicker win

The Akou talk (before his death) is interesting. About how Ousen is a man without equal and that is gonna win in the end against Riboku. I'm actually on board with the historical fate of Riboku being applied in the manga too but those lines were spicy lol.

I wonder if Hara ultimately does intend for Ousen to beat Riboku after all, making him the winner.

Ousen will hammer in Zhao so bad that Riboku will be willing to accept a truce (if we go by history)

The Qin court literally declared him an unbeatable commander historically. They had to pull their machinations to get him removed from command because they knew Zhao would not fall during his lifetime. This is when Zhao had less men than they have in Kingdom too mind you. The Qin continuously attacked Zhao with numerical superiority and Riboku repelled them over and over. Even after Zhao got strike by an earthquake, Qin still could not defeat Riboku.

This isn’t even acknowledging Riboku’s unprecedented victory against the Xiongnu which were an existential threat to all of Zhao and potentially even wider China.

Riboku literally delayed the collapse of Zhao single handedly for like two decades lol. Hakuki’s historical feats are not better than this.

And in Kingdom it’s not even close. Riboku’s achievements utterly dunk on Hakuki’s (what even are they aside from the Bayou victory?)
