I don’t get why Fuji fanboys want Oda to make him the most boring character ever lol. There’s nothing interesting about Fuji becoming a generic Luffy ally. I’d prefer that Oda goes the Suzaku (from Code Geass) route for Fuji. Have him be a good guy who knows that the WG is deeply flawed, but he’d rather change it from within rather than let the world be fall to chaos and piracy (keep in mind that 99% of pirates are evil scumbags)

Which is why it's just obvious that the Marines will not follow the WG for eternity. It was stated that they're different groups for a reason. VP wanted to join the Navy because he knew there are good men amongst them.
