Questions & Mysteries Examples of Oda clearly not caring about powerscaling?

#1
Many people here act like Oda is just as obsessed with powerscaling as they are, but there are several examples of Oda egregiously ignoring powerscaling. Here’s two very glaring examples

1. The WBPs clashing evenly with the Roger Pirates. It’s pretty obvious that Oda didn’t think this through at all. He clearly thought that “Since Primebeard = Roger, the WBPs have to match the Roger Pirates in strength”, without thinking about the specifics. Maybe Oden could cancel out Rayleigh in strength, but what about the rest of the crews? Marco, Jozu, and Vista were still young boys who obviously weren’t anywhere near their primes. The Roger Pirates should logically be stronger than the current SHs, so Gaban should be > current Sanji (so YC1 level at the very least), the #4 of the crew should be > Jinbe, etc. Gaban alone should be able to wipe the floor with the WBPs, who haven’t even finished puberty. It clearly should have been a stomp, but Oda just completely ignored power scaling for the sake of the narrative

2. The Scabbards performance on Onigashima. Earlier it was made clear that all the Scabbards that didn’t travel to the future were much stronger than those who did (since they had 20 extra years to train for the raid). We saw in WCI that Carrot got multiple times stronger when she entered Sulong, so the Dukes (who should already be ~YC3 level and >> Kinemon, Kiku, and Raizo) should get just as large a boost from Sulong and probably be somewhere around YC1 level. Despite this, Oda portrayed all the Scabbards as being basically on the same level on the Rooftop, even though there should be huge gaps in strength between them.

What are some other examples of Oda blatantly ignoring powerscaling?

One thing about power levels needs to be clarified , for any character there are three subtiers he is fighting on.
Jobbing mode
Serious mode
Extreme mode
let us take a top yc1 as an example . A jobbing yc1 is fighting at the level of a serious yc3 .
An extreme mode yc1 is fighting at a serious yc1+ level mode .

Now let's talk about the strawhats in big fights , at the beginning of the fight the vilain is jobbing and the SH crew member is on serious mode , then the SH enters extreme mode and the vilain enters serious mode, then the SH gets stronger and stronger until he is one subtier stronger than in the beginning of the fight and the villain goes extreme mode. Finally the vilain gets defeated

Usopp not defeating those fodder characters

Been with Luffy for all his adventures except marineford, WCI, trained on an island with man eating plants for two years, awakened haki but Oda scaled him below his pedigree because "he needs to be the weakest member in the crew"
what fodder characters?

That's is totally coherent. Gorosei are that weak.
aren't you the same guy that didn't know what malevolent shrine was?

Kawa, Kyoshiro and even Kiku were displayed as much stronger. Izo too.

Kanjuro was literal fodder.
The only thing they were equal at was the use of ryu, which they learned together before 20y.

It's oda story bud , He can make imu bend down infront of buggy if he wants. That's how he plans to advance the plot.
He can do whatever , make any power up possible to anyone.
It's oda decision.

Powerscaling is side part of the forun where they take feats and make decision and rank them.

Oda can make bellamy win against Doflamingo whenever he wants...
