Character Discussion Zoro is the most iconic swordsma in all of fiction.

Braindead take.
Literally every single person in the world knows what the lord of the ring is.
world =/= west

f*** no. Jackie Chan is more known than LotR
LotR peaked maybe in people born in 90s for the 2nd time but it's not a multi generational hit

One Piece is both a multi generational hit and it is yet to peak ... each year the number of active fans is growing
Live Action is yet to go
manga is yet to be finished
anime remake will push new waves
and one piece had FAR less adaptations if we count games in to math as well
1 good game, and it can be Witcher all over again

and one piece already has a bigger net worth

Dude what are you waffling about? Lotr is not a multigenerational hit? You are delusional.

Eh… don’t forget theres still Saber, Gintoki, Sasuke, Ichigo, Kenshin Himura, and this generation Levi Ackerman and Kirito
Sasuke is known as a ninja, and noone of them is as iconic as Zoro regardless.

Sasuke definitely is considered a swordsman by most people… and ichigo Kurosaki isn’t as iconic as Zoro?

Considered a swordsman, by who? I partecipate in Naruto discussions very often, noone ever refers to Sasuke as "swordsman", his swordsmanship is barely talked about. The things that he is most known for are his eyes, not a sword he sometimes uses. You need to deeply known and have ready the story for even know he at a certain point obtain and uses a sword.

I'd say that even the word bankai is bigger than ichigo.
One Piece is much more known than Bleach and therefore Zoro is much more known than Ichigo and more iconic.

Don't think Gontoki is as iconic as Zoro, tho he is a GOAT too

Sasuke is maybe the only competition, but IDK if we can count him as a swordsman.

Others, nah.
Ichigo could've been a competition if Bleach didn't fall off hard

Peaked in the 90s a book who came out in the 50s.
A product that influenced the entirety of Western literature.
Are you fucking retarded?

Bleach’s recent resurgency is huge and idk I’m just going off personal experience. A lot of my irl friends don’t watch anime know these guys but don’t even know Zoro or much about One Piece at all…but that just may be because OP is just not really popular in the west despite Netflix’ attempt.

Yeah but Ichigo was the only protagonist of the big three who actually is a swordsman.
And also "edgy" like my man Zoro.
In manga and anime he is pretty high, sasuke i would never consider a "swordsman" for the sake of this discussion, i see him as a ninja, whatever it means.
Zoro, Musashi (less popular too seinen), Ichigo, King Bradley (not famous nor as iconic but hello cool) are in my opinion not close to Guts in popularity.
One Piece remains not as popular as Dragonball pr similar

Well I live in Italy and here even the people (teen-young adults) who dont know One Piece know who Zoro is. Bleach on the other hand is much less known and talked about...

Wild. Bleach is talked about a lot more over here hard to walk past a hot topic or box lunch in a mall that doesn’t have a bunch of t shirts in their window with bleach and SAO tbh

Has to be because Bleach anime was never aired on italian TV, unlike One Piece, Dragonball and Naruto.

Trunks who uses a sword once more iconic swordsman than Zoro :okay:
I wouldn't necessarily say he's more iconic but these characters are more comparable.

The ones below are definitely more iconic than Zoro though. Whether people mix up Zelda with Link, at least they know of the elf with a green tunic. Darth Vader is obvious, same as Yoda.

I think Ichigo is more iconic than Zoro.
Then there is Guts and Kenshin. That's just the anime/manga part.

Also, all of fiction? There's Darth Vader, Yoda, Link, Zorro, Cloud, etc.
Zoro has no real chance in comparison to them.
I was about to mention Ichigo and Guts.
Zoro isn't even the main character of the manga he's in, unlike those characters. Idk how anyone thinks he could be more iconic than them.

Some people in this forum clearly live in their delulu world and even rival Taylor Swift fans. Like, who genuinely believes Zoro beats all those aforementioned characters at being more iconic?
