Gear 5 baloon just accumulated the energy of the three attacks and redirected them to Mars (who was launched to the moon), it just means that IJ Hell Memories is that strong to send a Top Tier flying away.

Despite the issue of stall piece, at least Zoro isn't getting treated like that ; we waited for 10 years for Asura which is Zoro's strongest sword style where @JoNdule said Oda discarded it , just to see an Asura that had been used against an Emperor with a crazy feat where Asura with 30 broken bones overpowered Hybrid Kaido and scarred him on the process and taking into the account that RT Santōryu Zoro = YC 1 .
Zoro is treated with respect in this whole Nika Piece which you wouldn't expect at all , and well we get this which is also crazy :

Nah, he's combining both to create further resistance to blunt force.
Basically, haki countered haki counter to DF, while rubbery aspect acted as usual cushion against blunt force.
If the rubbery aspect made no difference and it was all haki, then Doflamingo wouldn't have highlighted "rubbery armament"
Either way, G5 also has shown significantly higher resistance to blunt force, than other gears and base.
Proof of just observation of how G5 dealt with Kaido's attacks versus other modes versus Kaido's attacks

They need magical circles to do that, though. When Saturn summoned them, they left a black summoning circle in the Room of Authority:
