That's how I know you're a legit Kid fan. Because I said him not hitting his expectations as a character in Wano was what soured me on him when he was one of my favorite. Memes aside, I viewed him and Law losing as great setup for their eventual return to the final arc. Kid will be back.
Idk why anyone expected Kid to win against Shanks in egghead of all places.
him doing it in the future wouldnโt necessarily be bad, although Iโm more inclined to think Luffy will be the one to beat Shanks. But you knew he was going to lose for the simple fact that Shanks was yet to do anything post skip.
The only thing you could complain about is him getting one shot, but if you look at it in context it isnโt nearly as bad as people make it to be.
Kid vs Shanks was basically the same difficulty as Law vs Teach. It just ended faster because Shanks started off serious while Teach didnโt.
Shanks did to Kid what Kid was about to do to the RHP. Kid was going to use DP on them, one of his strongest moves. He was going to destroy them. Shanks did the same thing with DD, taking our Kid before he could do any damage.
That treatment is legit better than Luffy vs Kaido in act 1, where Kaido gives zero shits about what Luffy is about to do and just gives him tons of free shots because he knows Luffy canโt do shit anyways. And that Luffy was already worth 1.5 bil.
