We don’t know what tier of attack DD is though, it’s most likely a mid-tier move or signature move like thunder bagua.

It’s a high end attack. Not Shanks’s peak but one of his strongest.

Big Mom could not do that. Yet Big Mom was able to temporarily put down Kid and Law with her off screen lightning attacks before they broke her bones.

Those lightning attacks can be scaled to Kaido’s basic hybrid TBs as they had a similar effect on Law(both Kaido and BM’s moves temporarily put him down).

For Kid to be completely one shot, Shanks must have used a much higher level of AP. This is despite him being portrayed as comparable, if not weaker, than Kaido.

Which is probably not the case. If Shanks is going to fight Luffy Oda will not show off one of his strongest attacks right away. This is like saying Bolo breath is one of Kaido’s strongest attack, or Thunder Bagua

if he’s going to fight Luffy, chances are he will get a power up. Imo a DF. That could also boost him above Mihawk, allowing Luffy vs Shanks and Zoro vs Mihawk to happen at the same time.

A DF power up would also allow Shanks to be a massive threat even after Luffy beats Teach.

I think he could kill Marco and steal the Phoenix fruit. That would allow him to regen his arm and reach his prime. He might also be able to easily awaken the Phoenix fruit since his physical strength and haki clearly shit on Marco’s.

Again, no way to confirm this until we see Shanks fight BB or even CDs. Shanks can have a significantly higher AP than Kaido but still lose in a fight. Fights aren’t all about AP, it’s about being the last one standing.

We saw him torture Brown beard and his crew and hang them on crosses iirc. Sure they were pirates. But that's something goofy or Law wouldn't do.
