Controversial Shanks encounter with Kidd did nothing positive for the story?

Oda did fumbled with kidd. Let's see where it goes in future. Either don't give him the big role of defeating a yonko like BM , have him defeat a commander like queen and then shanks negs him ending his career or give him some good showings against shanks and then just like law simply take him out of the fight.
Kidd got a big spotlight in wano simply for him to get instantly clowned and destroyed. Bizarre writing.

Kid having a major role in beating a yonko then Shanks one shotting him is what makes it hype. Shanks 1 shotting a yonko commander level of fighter is useless for narrative, we already know that yonkos can do that. Oda had to go to the next level from his previous portrayal of Kaido 1 shotting a yc1.
Shanks vs Kid is so cheesy, and it contradicts the themes of the previous arc.
Creating the "rooftop boys" next generation that will shape the new era blah blah blah.
Having them screaming about how "YOUR ERA IS OVER!!!" blah blah blah.
Then in the transition arc having them run into Blackbeard & Shanks and getting annihilated.

The thing is I was talking in terms of Kidd's story and growth as a character and his relevance in general. Kidd by feats was midd for me and for general audience as a whole. Law hard carried the win against BM and was acknowledged for his attacks being dangerous.
He was the main reason why BM was defeated. Kidd is only viewed as YC1 or even below by lot. Shanks one shotting him was not that much of a big deal. Especially when it was also sneak attack to some extent.

Kidd just got what he deserved, he was built to be eventually humbled or destroyed by somebody. He was just that obnoxious bully who never knows when enough us enough. Beckman already gave him a warning by cutting his arm, again in Wano he didn't get what was good for him after the Kaido treatment (if it wasn't for Luffy he would still be there slaving away), this time Shanks went even harder (but of course Kidd is still alive, no doubt about that).
Shanks is simply the overpowered role model of the MC, he will be almost godlike until the final villain uses him as an hype tool. That is the script.

A Signature Attack is the one where you Charge your own Power in it & it Scales with your Ability (As i said, basically their Hiken)
Law's DF is about creating Rooms, what happens inside those Rooms is up to him, actually those Effects aren't Fixed, it's just that He fights like that cuz He is a Doctor, but his Main Ability is making Rooms
So his Signature Attack is when He charges something with Room & unleash it as a Finisher, which is what Shock Willie is, it's basically his El Thor Attack, the Rest are like his Vari Attacks, as for Kid, his Power is Magnetism, not just Metal, meaning his Signature Attack is when He charges his Magnetism & unleash it similar to Hiken or El Thor or Sables or Dai Funka or Raging Tiger or Ursus Shock ... etc & that's what Damned Punk was
Signature Attack represents a Character's True Power, He can use Gatling Version of it or an Ultimate Version of it or take a Form where you're Passively at Max Power, the rest are just Variations of those Techniques (Just like Rooftop Luffy for example, He has Roc Pistol, Roc Gatling, Roc Bazooka & have Gear 4, these are all you need to know how Strong is that Version of Luffy, the Rest are just Variations & there are Endless Possibilities for what Oda can draw)

If that confrontation permanently removes Kidd from the story then I would consider that to be a positive. If it doesn't then I would agree, there is no positive.
