I think everyone gets that they're still pirates who wanted to fight Kidd and all that, but they were literally way weaker than him, he didn't need to go after them. He could have just focused on Shanks. Kidd wanted to destroy every single ship for the sake of doing it, I'm certain if he just destroyed one or two with it, they'd have gotten the memo.
That's the bad part, he went way too far and clearly got pleasure out of preying on the weak. That's why Shanks stepped in in the first place, the mf is slimy and cocky and he got what he deserved.

Real life pirates killed innocents for the sake of greed and enslaved them
Kid will not mess with civilians at all unless they come and mock him unannounced in his face, he is better than 99.99% of real life pirates
he didnt kill for bounty he doesnt care, they just increased his bounty for killing "civilians" on top of his usual piracy acts
