As we know that every pirate who was at Gol D Roger execution wanted to be PK
Among them were the og 4 warlords: Doffy, Moriah, Mihawk and Crocodile too
I believe Croco, Moriah and Mihawk are the first 3 warlords to join.
All 3 were crushed by the og yonko, the rocks trio. That's why they all lost their first ambitions and stalled back in Paradise
Crocodile lost badly to Whitebeard
Moriah lost badly to Kaido
Mihawk lost badly to Linlin after his crew betrayed him with the help from Marines
How else would Mihawk give up the dream of PK and know how tough it is if he never faced a huge wall before him when he was a rising pirate ?
Moriah also told Luffy the same thing but in a more devastating way of someone who's broken. He told Luffy to give up his dream of going into the NW where monsters live.
Crocodile also spoke that way.
They all knew how tough it was to be PK
While Kuma, Hancock and Jinbei don't really have that talk with Luffy because they joined Yonko or were never into piracy to be Pirate King.
Kuma had to save his child per contract, Hancock and Jinbei did so to protect their countries
Doffy knew it was tough since he feared Kaido and wanted to be PK by blackmailing WG.
Only those who tasted defeats and betrayals are the one telling Strawhats how tought it is : Mihawk, Crocodile and Moriah !
