That's a good point. Let's me clear Shanks has sword skill, clearly, but I think you all are forgeting two things :
Oden nittoryu style being confirmed as the strongest, so above Roger if he has a sword style.
And second, yeah Shanks is a swordman, but it's like saying Connor McGregor has worse boxing skills than Mayweather. We have yet to see all of his arsenal.
You all exclude too much the possibility of him having a trump card, heck even King gave Zoro sword duels while not being a swordsman.

They destroyed the Den Den Mushi that transmissioned the broadcast, killed most of the Vegapunks, captured the Mother Flame, and none of them have either died or were defeated. As far as their mission was concerned, it was pretty much a success.
Their display of being formidable as antagonists wasn't the best, but that was mostly thanks to the plot elements repeatedly getting in the way rather than their lack of power.

Okay this is a great chapter. Never thought Oda would fulfill conqueror haki fans wet dreams. Even after that insane haki attack Gorosei were fine? What is it required to even put them down? Though Luffy dint use any CoC attack against gorsei Oda justified that it would be useless eventually. But storing haki route is controversial and hope he won't exploit it too much.

Seriously doubt that. Oda just sucks with his antagonists. I mean he didn‘t even gave them THE PANEL in the last chapter. Also due the last indication seemingly the Gorosei are just a part of Imu himself and his power(?). So even more of an unknown entity
