But we have enough evidences to believe Koby is a fanboy. And, he will remain so.

He might clash with Luffy but he will fall in line like others. He will become more of a cheerleader when Nika will take on WG..

its a cringe forced rivalry just like garp and roger whom were just doodle suckers. oda doesnt know how to create an actual rivalry that actually means something. A real rivalry should involve an actual desire for both people to take down the other person due to opposing values, with some actual competitiveness and anger. This is just another childrens rivalry like deku vs bakugou

Coby know Luffy is a good guy but he's still a pirate. Luffy and Coby's goals are in direct conflict with each other: Coby want to be an admiral to stop pirates, Luffy wants to be pretty much the face of piracy, an occupation that causes suffering to the innocent. Coby would surely want to get OP for the sake of the world.

Yeah it is indeed perfectly in character for Coby to want to get OP before Luffy.

plus they just learnt that the one piece is more then a treasure that the fate of the world is determined by who has it and to be frank you can like someone and not believe they are suited for a task
