Let's get this out of the way: We all complained that the last 20 chapters were dragging like crazy and could've easily been squeezed into 5 chapters from a plot standpoint.

But now sth worse happened: The current chapter makes no sense in terms of logic whatsoever and therefore bombs the entire rest of the Egghead arc in hindsight.

This entire Vegapunk memory erasure plot makes no sense.

They know that York is the traitor and has already told the WG everything they need to know (their void century research), even sent them part of the Mother Flame to use it.

At this point they know their fate is sealed and Egghead is going to be erased.

So why the actual fuck would you sit there, let York continue and program a video message to play out only once you're dead?

You know that you still have some time, so actually arrest/eliminate York, make sure the Mother Flame is destroyed and then send out the message to the entire world immediately, while you're dipping with the Seraphim, Pacifista etc. from Egghead.

It makes zero sense whatsoever. There is absolutely no logical argument to save this.

No. Simply .. no.

The current chapter is here to help th readability of the end of the arc. It's here to explain why depiste just being aware of York's plan and the Gov's arrival, Vegapunk was able to create an entire scenario to turn the table.

This entire Vegapunk memory erasure plot makes no sense.
Yes it does.

They know that York is the traitor and has already told the WG everything they need to know (their void century research), even sent them part of the Mother Flame to use it.
Which they just discovered. The point was not about York, the point was for the gov NOT to be able to know that Vegapunk know that the Government know.

This was a 3D chest move to be able to turn the table with his big speech and his death.

So why the actual fuck would you sit there, let York continue and program a video message to play out only once you're dead?
Because the death of Vegapunk was necessary for people to take what he had to say seriously and create a major event.

so actually arrest/eliminate York, make sure the Mother Flame is destroyed and then send out the message to the entire world immediately
That's would not have caused the same scenario and earthquake.

It would be like saying "why did Roger when to die to explain that he let the One Piece in the world ?" Well.. because Roger's death is the reason why people took that soo seriously.

It makes zero sense whatsoever. There is absolutely no logical argument to save this.
Because people like you don't really care to understand what you are reading.

Oda literally made a chapter for you to understand it more, but you still missed the point lol.

Yoooo I remember the good ol days when the Tamatebako box was strong enough to incapacitate Big Mom completely (in our headcanon)
This was the kind of stuff Flower, Sanjikun and Cardboard Douchebag were defending on Oro Jackson, while I was arguing against it due to how ridiculous it was. I miss these times. I still was optimistic and hopeful about One Piece at the time.

Cardboard Douchebag
I was a staunch advocate of the Tamatebako Assassination theory:josad:
I remember my old theory that I posted back on Oro Jackson, back during my youth when I still held affection for One Piece in my heart, about how Pudding was going to assassinate Linlin using a wedding cake that had devil fruits hidden within it. To think I used to make theories. :josad:

Hang on a moment, if Bege could sneak a mirror into the cake then his dumb arse could have assassinated Linlin using hidden devil fruits. That room temperature IQ bum. :suresure:

Bege is another one of these characters who are supposed to be smart but fail utterly to be so.

Man I really miss that time back then (even those fuckers to some extent) - the legendary "The Great Debate" thread ...
