Character Discussion Overall thoughts on Vegapunk?

So what are your overall thoughts on the main Vegapunk as a character not counting his satellites.

Genius, but autistic and stupid.

I liked him as a character as in that he was flawed and he knew he was a piece of shit, which clearly also was confirmed this chapter by his death wish


I liked also the theme of him that through the arc he concedeed that some things can't explained via science with Kuma and Sanji for example, which is obviously ironic as he is the ultimate scientist
Starting with the first chapter of egghead that Lilith was wondering about the emotions suppression of the animals

Horrible executed on the genius aspect tho

Oda is in the long list of writers that can't write a hyper smart character

One of the best character post timeskip.

People didn't understand it, but what he did at last was actually very smart.

Very human and interesting. I love the character.

He's a pretty big let down. Not to say I was ever hyped for Vegapunk but we've heard about him since chapter 400 or there abouts. To wait 750 chapters to meet this character and to get this book reader was a massive disappointment.

Generally speaking, before the internet, most people used books to learn things, as I would wager the trio also have read such things. XD

He is one if the dumbest character I have read about, and the audacity that he was marketed for years as smartest guy in the world, with no one near him..... Even had a DF to complement him..

Superman is a hero because he is the strongest.

Same with intelligence, if you are the smartest guy.. Far smarter than others.... You don't lose or die like he died..

Vegapunk's character is pretty decent, ngl.
Vegapunk isn't a genius of warfare, nor is he someone who can manage the people around him well. He's just a lab rat - probably the best lab rat in the verse - but as a person, he's just an average guy, easily affected by human emotions.
The problem is that Oda built up his character as a kind of mastermind behind a lot of incidents that made people go crazy, and when the revelation finally came, it ended up that he's just an average guy.

There are different forms of intelligence mate.

Vegapunk is intellectually amazingly smart, but has a very poor self-emotional intelligence. This is why it's such an interesting character.

Sadly, people here can't apprieciate these kind of subtilities.
