I said that since day 1, One Piece live action is trash and will take away Odas time. Also i wouldnt watch one second of this garbage. Oda is out for the money now. He coulndt care less about manga. Also One Piece will not be finished because of that unless Oda rushes the series.

If Live Action One Piece was such an immense success for the franchise why are we getting a completely animated reboot of the whole series in better animation and quality

because Oda is obsessed with growing the One Piece name and getting more people to buy into it and Live Action on its own simply did not do the job that it should have
...

One piece has been a weekly anime for 25 years lol

That's enough time for old anime to get reboots.

Look at HxH.

It's BECAUSE of the success of LA that NETFLIX is producing the Wit adaptation. Netflix is literally bankrolling this lol. You think they're doing it because LA was not a success? Hoe dumb are you?

They're just being smart and cashing in on the LA's popularity world wide rn. Before one piece ends.

How is 7.2 million volumes sold in 2023 pitful?

it's the 3rd most sold series in 2023, behind only Blue Lock and JJK

and JJK was doing Gojo vs Sukuna, the big event hyped up since chapter one lmao
And One Piece had its first ever live action adaptation which reviewed “well” and it couldn’t even beat out Blue Lock or JJK.
Fact is JJK Anime is better job of growing it as as a series then One Piece live action did. That’s why One Piece animated reboot is next thing being pushed

Bro, you are in too deep wanting to hate on the live action

if it "didn't do it's job", why the hell are they continuing it?

Ofc it was a success but there is a reason WIT remake is being treated as bigger thing. That is where actual money is at
Netflix literally revealed that the Live Action hit 72 millions views and got more views than both the anime and anime movie in their platform lmao

The Live Action was their biggest hit on Netflix

they are doing the remake + the LA for more views, that's it
Post automatically merged:

from Netflix's POV

they got more views and subs because of the live action

not the anime

JJK is in its final climax, the anime just finished the best arc in JJK as well. It makes sense the anime increased manga sales as people would want to read on and now find out how it ends.

Meanwhile the OP live actions main job was to appeal to western audiences, and western countries like America and Canada have the highest traffic to illegal streaming and pirating sites so it makes sense why it didn’t drastically increase sales when many new fans would just pirate the manga if they wanted to read it.

this idea that the main objective of the live action was to get more manga sales is completely stupid

Netflix is the main producer behind it

they don't give a shit about manga sales

their main objective is getting subs and views

and they fucking got it

Yeah Netflix was losing subscriptions fast with all the other streaming services making more competition and their recently launched no password sharing rule, so they needed a big name to hopefully retain subscriptions and appeal to a younger audience who just got kicked off their parents account.
