Kizaru was not caught off guard when luffy semi KO him .
The man attack luffy then get counter attack and had enough time to pay attention to him that is not catching someone off guard .
In fact Kizaru did not even do any damage to luffy with his light speed since luffy blame the damage from the barrier and that was G4.
Luffy took a beam to save VP and had no damage again .
Luffy was not really using ACoC or when he hold kizaru and Saturn he was fast enough to dodge both of there attacks in giant form at close range so it easy to come up on with hypotheticals on both sides for what you want .
Also thinking that luffy would not be able track Kizaru speed is crazy even as a hypothetical since old man ray and even dying WB did it and thinking that Kizaru would be able to fly away and attack G5 luffy all the time is crazy talk .

NOP for the barrier . Luffy do not blame the damage on the abrrier he blame almost dying to the barrier. NO where is it stated that the kick did no damage then you use your logic and realise that if kizaru kicked luffy away that mean he was strong enought to damage him except if he did'nt used haki on the kick .
Luffy is rubbery in gear 4 even doflamingo was not even moving him with attacks because of that . If you can move him you can damage him .

I don't know how someone even comes to this conclusion after that miserable performance? Kizaru landed a single attack throughout the fight which resulted in nothing. He got knocked out of the fight 2 times. Both times he tried to attack Luffy with no success instead got knocked out in the process.
