I can understand looking at it that way but people think this some how bad for luffy cause he care that someone died that he made promise to is WTF .

I'm guessing this is the train of thought from Zoro. A leader needs to be more composed? And actually Luffy seems more sad about breaking the promise as an emperor more than VP's death itself.
