Kinemon's technique opens a path through flames. It isn't really explained why a normal air blade wouldn't accomplish that. It also wouldn't explain what's so difficult about cutting Akainu's magma, even Whitebeard just stabbed it casually.

Nah if Elbaf figures are coming out in November we should be in Elbaf mid October so Oda can introduce the new outfits and a side character to make money. My guess is for Viz release of chapters:

1129 - October 6
1130 - October 13 (first chapter of Elbaf)

Yeah, Tashigi is one of the worst wasted opportunities and female characters victim of Oda's sexism, alongside Big Mom herself, Smoothie, Compote, the rest of Big Mom's daughters, Tsuru, Gion,the Kuja Pirates, etc...

Even Boa Hancock who Oda favors more than most other OP female characters is far more of a gag and fanservice device than a strong and complex female character, with her onscreen abilities and feats being nowhere as good and many as they should be.

Just looking at Tashigi, Hancock, Big Mom and Smoothie's gameplay and attacks in video games such as Pirate Warriors 3 or 4 are both a joy and a bitter reminder of how these female characters will never get the respect and badassery they deserve in the manga.

Big Mom is a whole counter-masterclass of how to not treat your female characters or antagonists, Oda fucked up so badly so many times with her I am still amazed and baffled how he managed to do it.
