I enjoyed how Oda dealt with the concept of death. Is Stussy really alive? Is Kuma really dead? Last chapter, we saw the Vegapunks contemplating the meaning of death for them standing before the punk records. I think he approached this theme subtly without pretension

So while Lilith might technically be correct in saying Stella isn’t dead, is he really alive through Lilith? This leaves Luffy in an interesting position as he can claim success, but still somewhat fails in his goal. I’m personally surprised Oda handed him a loss (albeit one with a cop out) similar to Kid and Law. I need to see what next for him in Elbaf. And Zoro is just an absolute savage :kobeha:

One of the best moments in the arc was Kizaru's remorse. Say what you will about Egghead’s anticlimactic climax and the unresolved payoff between Saturn and Nika/Kuma/Bonney, but I’ll defend how awesome Kizaru's characterization was handled throughout the arc. He might now be on par with Fujitora as my favorite admiral. Obviously powerscaling brain rot readers will deny he was conflicted and that his heart wasn’t into fighting after killing his best friend, but doesn't change the fact that Luffy still negs him in a 1 on 1 :myman:

I have to mention that I always love it when Oda draws the ship as if it's reacting and celebrating with the characters. I find it very charming for some reason

Can’t believe I’m typing this, but Akainu’s apology does make him more likable. My main issue with him is that he feels nothing like a typical One Piece antagonist. While necessary for his role, I read One Piece for its unconventional takes on villains. The most gruesome maniacs are still clowns and retards in some way. I hate villains who only appear when confronting or talking about the protagonist. They feel more like plot devices than fully realized characters. I love scenes where villains have their own minor character moments apart from the protagonist, like Doflamingo playing cards with his crazy family or waking up in a cold sweat after a childhood nightmare.

These moments flesh out a villain as a hero of his own stories with a realized world out side of wanting to kill the protagonist. If Akainu had more of these moments rather than just spamming “I’ll kill Dragon’s son” every time he appears I might actually appreciate him.

Also, I believe this guy is the one who was drinking with Crocus...

Overall, I'll say Egghead was awesome at parts, with a frustrating ending. But still, Oda negs your favorite mangaka, Egghead negs your favorite arc, Luffy negs your favorite protagonist, Zoro negs your favorite deuteragonist, Sanji negs you favorite simp pretty boy, Nami negs your favorite heroine and Sugoi negs your favorite troll thread maker :nikalaugh::pepebuggy:

2nd to me. Kuma is peak imo. Both are probably some of the best though
I agree on Kuma, but I meant in terms of development and actions happened DURING the arc.
Kuma's flashback puts him up there for sure, but DURING the arc (in present time) his punch to Saturn was the only action he did (still the heviest and most satisfying hit on Saturn, imo).
Kuma closed his circle, while we saw Borsalino's struggle from the start to its peak during the incident.

Anyway, they are the 2 best character a of the Arc no doubt.

I think it's Roger's crewmate

panels of Sentomaru and Kizaru looking at each other while Sento is crying and then a closeup of Kizaru shows he has also been crying, damn, I wonder what Kizaru must be thinking now, he ended his relationship with Sento, killed Vegapunk, tried to kill Bonney and his other friend Kuma is practically dead, he lost everything on Egghead.

Looking back now I wonder if Kizaru was responsible for Bonney and her crew not being attacked by the marines on sabaody

Hoping for Kizaru to join the Revos with Sentomaru and reunite with his childhood friend Dragon then they both can kill Saturn in the final war or Marijoa raid arc.
