Ok lets see what we actually know for a fact :

- Shanks and Kaidou had encounter



]

- Just day after Shanks arrived quickly without any damage / wound being mentioned or visible






- Shanks is on Kaido list of 5 people capable of fighting him.

This list consists of people with greater portrayal and bounties than Kaido like Roger and Whitebeard and Oden guy who already proved his capability to wound and defeat Kaido were it not for old hag assistance.

This proves Kaido did witness Shanks power , otherwise he would never include him into his list.

Now stacking evidence is that we have Egghead and Wano feats of Haki negating devil fruits power regardless is it logia or zoan type . One of them was Shanks himself with Grenbull but another one was Joyboy haki against Gorosei. Yet said haki used against Gorosei got compared to Shanks own haki power.


Conclusion :

As we saw in first image I provided its said Shanks was involved in minor clashes , that it was minor clash against Kaido is also supported by fact Shanks arrived so quickly without any wounds at Marineford.

People may say nothing happened at all , but if that was case Kaido would not have witness Shanks power so he would not list him as someone capable of fighting him, If he didnt saw Shanks power Kaido would never place Shanks in same basket as Whitbeard and Roger.

Given all this facts and feats we had in Egghead its pretty clear Shanks used his Haki to wifi diff Kaido and made him return home without trying to take Whitebeard head.

Shanks > Crydo pretty much everything but confirmed.

- Bullshit.
- Unless I see some real Evidence I ain't Believing any of the speculations
- They met and probably made a deal.
- No matter what difference in power they have , Kaidou ain't the type of Aramaki who would back off from the fight.
- Kaidou was literally looking for a fight or maybe a way to die.
- A guy surviving a sky fall with no real injury is scared of someone who got negged by a Sea king.
- kaidou >~ Shanks is the best bet you have , because all the yonkou are somehow relative to each other , and that's exactly how they keep the balance alive. If theirs a tier gap between them they would have levelled each other completely.
- Their bounties says otherwise. I'm not a real supporter of Bounties for Powerscaling but , if they both have same portrayal. One with higher bounty, and same crew strength should win.
- Bigmam had an army , Kaidou has Giants and Army of Smile Users and King as well., Shanks has giants , Bigmam said she would be undefeatable or something if she had Giants.
- Bounty wise speaking Kaidou > Bigmam > Shanks. Because their crew is relative to each other , their Bounty reflect the difference in power.
- Shanks has zero feat under his belt to call shanks someone above Kaidou.
- they are in the same tier and Kaidou is probably superior all rounded factor but Shanks would probably win due to swordsman advantage.

No. It wasn't a very big fight but there was small fight/skirmish. GB wasn't a fight or anything. So shanks did indeed fight Kaido.

What you are saying is head canon. You are sad how fraudbull was treated. Understandable.

Shanks may be able to turn off Kaido's fruit, but that should make them equals or put Kaido at maybe a bit weaker, the current admirals are more fruit reliant so if unable to use their fruits they get beaten easier than a commander,

This is likely a troll thread but I'll debunk anyway
Why would Kaido run from Shanks, then still call himself the strongest and say he can't be defeated?
Also, he retreated because a war with Shanks would take too long (regardless of who wins) and Marineford would likely be over by then. Not to mention it'd be hard for him to win with only King helping him against the whole RHP.

But the question of why Kaido retreated is kind of interesting.
My guess is that Shanks used the classic "Besieging Wei to Rescue Zhao", so Shanks moved a good number of his allies near Wano, Shanks knows a lot about the geography of Wano, so it was pretty easy for his allies to conquer that land. Then he probably used it to force Kaido to retreat.
There are infinite ways to use "Besieging Wei to Rescue Zhao", not only with his allies, but with any enemy Kaido had.

Strength alone isn't enough to make a beast like Kaido retreat.

Kaidou likely went to Marineford for Ace & not for Whitebeard like the Marines claimed.

He probably wanted to see if Ace was actually Joyboy, the dude straight up invaded Onigashima and told everyone that he'll free Wano from Kaidou, who lived his entire life wanting to fight JB. Which is why King alone accompanied him as well.

And Shanks likely stopped him.

Thats obvious, but only Kaido dick riders will say no.

They believe that those top 5 of Kaido, era weaker and cant win and might be high diffed lol
