The last two chapters have shown how much more of a villain Imu is compared to Akainu. Akainu showed a soft side when Kizaru got emotional and said if he ever killed his best friend.

Imu showed no mercy though and just killed the guy who was serving him for centuries without any hesitation.
I assume that is part of the point.
Even the monster that is Akainu has displayed emotion for Kizaru.

Imu? As was said up there that what happened is very "UnOnePiece":

Sure we got the Tenryuubito and the Sabaody moments but Imu is actually heartless, I assume.

Its not just the "neg", its the absolute ruthlessness of Imu.
No second chances. Saturn fucked up, he got killed and replaced.

Imu does not give a shit. I mean, we knew that since Lulusia but even the Gorosei?

If anything can be taken from this chapter, its that nobody can expect any mercy or second chances from Imu.
All it takes is some joy boy haki for her her to act like a bitch

The Gorosei have been built up since the pre-skip, I don't like what Oda did with Saturn in favor of Garling, but at least this confirms Imu is a top tier imo. No way Oda will make him another Spandam after negging a Gorosei like this. Well, i'm eager to see Dragon active the following arcs, it seems the revs will go to war already.

The way everything is unfolding at the moment in Egghead
I believe WG will attack Elbaf or sent someone to deal with Giants
If anything IMU will mobilize Holy Knights because of current state of Holy Land(lack of food), i wouldn't be surprised if CDs sent Akainu himself
Sakazuki and Gorosei go to Elbaf
Revs go to Mariejoa and fight the Holy Knights
Dragon attacks Imu and makes the gorosei vulnerable
:willight:

WG taking some massive L

No Mother Flame
No Punk Records
No food for CDs
Maybe all Vegapunk alive
VP message leaks
JoyBoy escape
Saturn created second JoyBoy
VA & Marines have doubts in WG
Admirals

Imu will probably just let them starve. With all this talk of insects and Imu being able to bestow powers, y’all ain’t ready for Beelzebub form Buggy the King of the World

They have the mother flame that is the only win they get here. ( and York still has access to punk records even if it gone )
Which is big win still since they have a AW.

Side note it kinda funny in end Saturn got kill for disobeying orders .
It's not like studying the robo was even a bad move and thing not move in 200 years .
What he could not see coming is robo waking up and doing a 800 year old haki blast that would help SH escape and he was fucked lol.

Chapter analysis
Cover page: Yawn, who cares. Yamato is a waste of space. 13 volumes and jack (character who might be in this cover story) shit has happened! Was the carpenter introduced during Wano? Probably, but does anyone remember the 5 trillion faceless nobodies from Wano? Just show us the bandits from the last volume already!

Page 1: Seraphim are implied to have some charging mechanism, so they are unable to act indefinitely. Egghead is still ablaze, so it'll be hard for the WG to perform a salvage at the current moment. The Cipher Pol members are already awake, so they either got priority or the seastone bubbles block out CoC. The Seraphim were unaffected but that's probably because they're Seraphim. The CP agents also recognize Stussy, so there is some interplay between the divisions despite 9 and 0 being unofficial. Anyhow, Lucci is running the story that Stussy died. This is probably a lie Kaku passed on to Lucci, but Stussy's whereabouts are still unknown.

Page 2: Unless they figure out how to move the Power Plant, the WG will probably occupy Egghead to extract more Mother Flame. It is conveniently close to Elbaf, so perhaps some characters will return here during the final war. The VAs view their failure as letting the Straw Hats get away, which reflects how most of their justice is confined to pirates vs marines. Their eagerness to pursue also implies they will be going to Elbaf. Given Doll and Bluegrass' knowledge of Saul, it is pretty likely this will happen.

Page 3: Saturn's viewed failings pertain to personal matters (Emeth) and World Government secrets getting out. Saturn has been around in nearly the same form for over 200 years. Maybe Kureha's secret to youth has to do with the Gorosei? It wouldn't be surprising for Oda to make a gag relevant. Saturn does not recognize Emeth from the Void Century, believing the giant to be a potential military asset instead of an anti-government ticking time bomb, so Saturn was likely not alive during the VC to be aware of this.

Page 4: Insane longshot, but what if the scientist in the center is actually Dr. Tsukimi from Enel's cover story? He's the one that created the automata identical to the ones on the Moon. The flashback in that cover story doesn't have a specified time frame, so it could be possible! Doberman retains his loyal disposition by starting his question with a preemptive apology, but such a devout marine questioning the truth of the announcement demonstrates how much strife Vegapunk's announcement has already caused. Saturn uses his odd eye powers one last time to incapacitate the VA for daring to ask.

Page 5: Doberman (probably) is not dead since they're calling for medics. The facilities on Egghead Island being able to produce so many sky clouds is supporting the theory that sky islands, like Skypiea, are manmade. York is still alive and will probably continue to be an asset for the WG.

Page 6: I am a bit confused about Edison's appearance here. Is it a flashback, or his current self uploaded to Punk Records? While York was played, she did secure the Labophase for the WG.

Page 7: The CDs generally lack an understanding of world history. It's good of Oda to show the food "shortage" in Mary Geoise instead of just stating it again. A bunch of these CDs look like Dr. Seuss characters.

Page 8: Imu either talked to Garland directly, or had a servant relay the news to him.

Page 9: One of the biggest moments of the chapter, Garland has become a member of the Gorosei! Saturn messed up enough in Imu's eyes to warrant replacement, and Garland was HIM. Though it was not only Saturn's failure, but Garland's greater competence, especially with incoming civil turmoil. One could speculate all day on how this will impact match ups and what abilities Garland will possess. The Gorosei have probably not been the same five since the VC, as none of the other Gorosei raise objections to the possibility of a new member. The Gorosei are confirmed to have actual jurisdictions, with Garland taking custody of York. Garland's motif is the Moon (if you view his head from the side) or a star (if you view him from the front). It is interesting how Mars is standing again, and Nusjuro took his spot. Maybe there is some greater meaning to Mars standing? Also, Ju Peter's surprise is highlighted, after Garland takes his seat, so there is something bigger going on. He is not the (assumed) youngest Gorosei anymore.

Page 10: Continuing the Gorosei plot line is Saturn's death. The most likely explanation of what is happening is that Imu is taking back the power bestowed to Saturn, and conferring it to the new Gorosei, Garland. Some energy is emanating from the ground, so this is likely another spell circle akin to the ones Saturn used to arrive on Egghead.

Page 11: Imu's anger is less at Saturn's failure to contain the incident, but that this event reminded Imu of Joy Boy's existence through Haki. Also, the reaction shots on this page are wonderful. Classic Oda

Page 12: Saturn's death is powerful enough to send shockwaves across the fleet gathered at Egghead. Saturn totally vaporizing is probably the most graphic death in One Piece thus far.

Page 13-14: The plan to send Punk Records away was mostly to limit humanity's access to the information until the right time. York can still connect, but she is just one individual. Punk Records is now atop a Roaming Cloud, so unlike Skypiea, it will not be confined to the same general region. It is unknown if the Vegapunks can pilot it, or if the cloud will roam freely. All the artificial Vegapunks are confined to the same kit bashed body, with plenty of extra parts to spare. Vegapunk having contact with Weatheria is incredibly interesting. Was the island a Vegapunk project this whole time? Anyhow, this mostly wraps up the story of the Vegapunks, and they will not be very relevant for a while.

Page 15: Koala is recording a log of events surrounded by other members of the Revolutionary Army.

Page 16: Holy shit Tequila Wolf mentioned! Not just that, but it is one of four megastructures the CDs have forced slaves to work on. Though their ultimate purpose is still a bit muddled. Dragon warns that the world will descend into chaos if the Revolutionaries are not victorious.

This is either a transitionary chapter between Egghead and Elbaf, or the definitive end to the arc, as the story of the Vegapunks is wrapped up. Given that Oda really likes working with multiples of 5 for his arc lengths, it is possible that the next 5 chapters will be dedicated to illustrating the chaos Dragon is warning of, and updates from all the characters across the One Piece world. Though the Egghead arc has been a bit exhausting with how much it cut back and forth. Next chapter could simply be the start of the Elbaf arc. Either way, I'll hopefully have enough time (and enjoyment from the chapter) to write one of these

The funny thing is that it is just as much Imu & the rest of the Gorosei’s fault.

They let Luffy run around with the Nika fruit for so long. Since Imu has been alive since the Void Century and could recognize Poseidon and surely knew about the Nika fruit, there is simply no excuse for them letting Luffy run around for it. Imu should be punishing himself too.
