No standard makes friends with island-rescue princess-defeat stereotypical evil bad guy-repeat formula Oda usually uses. A fight between Shanks and Luffy will be a fight purely for their ambition and the throne to the pirate king.

Zoro would get 1 tapped even if he tried to clash with Shanks. And Barto helped him a ton in Dresrosa. His 100% making true to his promise when they drank sakes then.

i dont know how destroying some wood has anything to do with shanks vs luffy especially after shanks just showed he wants people to be loyal to luffy but ok

Did people not read shanks not being able to stop smiling because Luffys followers are so loyal to him?

Shanks loves Luffy, he’s not fighting or stopping him. And even if Yasopp did destroy Bartos ship, he didn’t do it on shanks’ orders nor did we see Shanks’ reaction to it like we did for Kid.

And since Barto is still alive, there’s more to this than just shanks suddenly becoming a prick

I don't know how you can read that page of shanks laughing at Barto and then still having his crew kill him as anything but "shanks likes playing with his food". If you think yasopp went against shanks' wishes or he's somehow upset with yasopp off screen you're crazy

Luffy literally plans on fighting Shanks, and Shanks is not above fighting for RP
