I do have to announce to the court that I have only tomorrow, until I have to work long shifts again from Saturday to Wednesday. During those days I only have the late evening to take part in the trial. If that is no problem, than ok. If I am needed for more, we have to take that into account.

Just so the defendant understands there will be a consequence for losing this trial in the form of more avi time.

And it will not run concurrently with what you owe.

We would advise the defendant to not speak when not called upon, so his lawyer can do his job. (or at least attempt)
